The Dental Hygiene Team

 

Adriana S., R.D.H.
Dental Hygienist

Adriana began her dental career at 17 years old working as a dental assistant/receptionist/insurance coordinator. She graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in Dental Hygiene in 1997. She is fluent in Spanish. Her interests include many sports - either playing or watching. She has run two marathons in under four hours each. She also has an interest in homeopathic health. Adriana's goal is to start a non-for-profit organization for under-privileged children's dental needs and education. She is most proud of being able to balance work and raise two children. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association and the Illinois Dental Hygienists Association. She enjoys working at City Smiles because of its balanced blend of patients and staff.

 

 


Danielle, R.D.H.
Dental Hygienist

Danielle loves pets and has lived in the city of Chicago for 27 years. She graduated from Kennedy-King College/UIC College of Dentistry with an associate's degree in Hygiene. She enjoys spending time with her family and scrapbooking. She would like to learn Spanish and train for a 5K race. Danielle is proud to be a hygienist in the state of Illinois and completed her standard proficiency in the periodontal use of dental lasers.

Dental Hygienist


May and her passion in dentistry started when she graduated from high school. She took dentistry courses overseas for 2 years. She moved to Chicago from New Jersey, where she graguated with high hnors from Middlesex County College with an A.A.S. degree in Dental Hygiene. She was on the Dean's list for 2 years during the Dental Hygiene program. Before earning her hygiene degree, she completed her. B.A. degree in Biological Sciences at Rutgers University of New Jersey. She is a member of American Dental Hygienist Association and the Illinois State Dental Society. She volunteered at Raritan Bay Medical Center in NJ as well as at The Reformed Church assisted Living. She is proficient in English and Arabic. In her spare time, she likes to sketch/ draw, kayak, spend time with husband and family, and cook traditional Mediterranean foods. In the future, she would like to participate in a research program related to dental hygiene and expand her knowledge in the dental field.



 

Kristine, R.D.H.
Dental Hygienist 

Kristine joined our team in 2009. She likes to bake and cook. She took dance for 15 years and only stopped doing it a few years ago. An interesting fact about her is that she has loved teeth and dentistry since she was little. She was probably the only kindergartner in her class that liked going to the dentist. She attended Loyola University for two years and has just recently received her degree in Dental Hygiene. Expect to see Kristine in the evenings and some Saturdays. 

 

 

 




Patricia, R.D.H.
Dental Hygienist

Patricia has been in the dental field for over 15 years. She enjoys spending time with her family and doing outside activities. She speaks fluent Greek. Her goals are to travel more, continue working, and giving quality care to patients and still maintaining a happy and healthy home life for her family. Her greatest accomplishments are her three children and completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management while working full-time as a hygienist. She also obtained her Dental Hygiene degree from Southern Illinois University in 1997, where she and Adriana S. were classmates and roommates. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association (ADHA). 

 

 

 

Jessica, R.D.H.
Dental Hygienist

Jessica has been in the dental field for over 9 years. She is thankful for her perseverance in obtaining her orthodontic treatment, for in the process she was offered a job as an orthodontic assistant. Her main interests are arts and crafts, photography, interior design, and last, but not least, enjoying quality time with family and friends. She is fluent in Spanish and graduated with high honors maintaining a 4.0 grade point average throughout her school years. She has an associate's degree in Hygiene from William Rainey Harper College and she is a member of the Illinois Dental Hygienist Society. Her biggest and most recent accomplishment has been becoming a mom to a healthy, precious, happy baby boy - Logan!

Jackie
Dental Assistant

Jackie grew up in Gurnee, Illinois and moved to Chicago as an adult. She is fluent in Spanish and English. Jackie went to Everest College for Dental Assisting and graduated in 2010. Her love for the dental field was sparked as a child because she had a wonderful experience with her childhood dentist. Jackie enjoys learning new things, spending time with family, friends, and her sons. She also loves to cook and her favorite meal is chicken fettuccini Alfredo.

 

 

 

 

 

Brandi
Clinical Coordinator/Dental Assistant

Brandi has been in the dental field for over 3 years. She joined our team July 2015 as clinical coordinator.  She also assists with our doctors in the evenings and Saturdays.She has previous experience working in the dental field as a receptionist/assistant and has worked as a receptionist/supervisor in a veterinarian clinic for the last 9 years. Brandi enjoys spending time with her two sons, traveling with her family and reading in her quite time. Her future goals are to obtain a degree in business management and to join or start an organization to help inner city youth.

 

 

 

 

Geri
Seasonal Dental Assistant/Clinical Consultant

Geri started in the dental field as a patient greeter at the age of 14! Throughout the years, she has worked in a variety of specialty offices. In 2007, she graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. degree in Health Sciences. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), completed her Master's degree in Higher Education and is continuing on to dental school. During her spare time, Geri enjoys cooking, dining, walking, and reading.

Damaris
Patient/Financial Coordinator/Dental Assistant

Damaris was hired to assist on weekends after participating in an internship program through the Wright College Dental Assistant Program. Damaris speaks fluent Spanish. You will currently find her working at the front desk as a patient coordinator or assisting whenever we need her. Her hobbies are running, reading novels, swimming, and volunteering at school activities. Her career goal is to become a dentist.

 

 

 

 



Leila
Financial/Insurance Coordinator

Leila joined our practice in 2011. She enjoys watching movies, traveling, and learning languages. She is originally from Brazil and has mastered the English language in a short period of time. Leila has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Advertising. Her long-term goal is to earn a master’s degree in Heath Care Management. She feels her greatest accomplishments are being bilingual (English and Portuguese), working in the healthcare field, and living in the United States.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Diana
Office Manager 

Diana has been with City Smiles for over 15 years. She is trained in both the front desk, as well as in the clinical area. She's an active church member, enjoys cooking, helping others, and helping the community. She loves children and working with young adults. She is an AADOM (American Association of Dental Office Managers) member and is working on obtaining a fellowship through the organization. She is fluent in Spanish and will gladly help any patients that need assistance in Spanish.

 

 

 

 

Adriana W., FAADOM
Business Manager

Adriana has been in the dental field for over 20 years. She came from the banking field and started working for our office as a receptionist in 1992. In 1997 she took a hiatus from the office to work for a well-known dental instrument manufacturer in Chicago. Since she is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish, she traveled to major dental conventions in Brazil and the United States to assist Latin American dentists. At the end of 1998, she came back to our office as Business Manager. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is a fellow of the American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM) and is proud to have been chosen as one of the Top 25 Women in Dentistry in 2010.
